Fatamorgana No. 12
Fata Morgana No. 12
2024 - 77cm x 41 cm - Acrylic on canvas - palette knife and brush - on stretcher frame
The painting shows a blurred, distorted landscape seen as if through fog. It is a desert landscape - hot, beautiful, wild, stretching under a golden-red sky. Walking stubbornly forward, with a steady, slow step, traversing sand dunes, you can see patches of green. Are these palm trees? What bushes are these? What is this valley and what is this water? This color... The landscape is so real and unreal at the same time. Everything seems to be fine, but something does not fit here. Nothing seems to be fine, but everything fits. What is it actually? What does the painting show? As you can probably guess - a fata Morgana. An interesting phenomenon, so often appearing in your life. How many times has something that seemed so real and true turned out to be an illusion? How many times has the desire to possess something seemed so real to you that it was almost tangible, but was only a desire? How many times has something been meant to be, but was not? If all this turned out to be an illusion – is it worth following the sun? Is it also just an illusion? Will this path ever end? If he truly loves someone, he will understand it perfectly.
