Act No. 6
  • Act No. 6

“Act No.6” is a very intriguing piece that seems to combine wealth and poverty at the same time. Simplicity, elegance, scandal, beauty, and ugliness… It’s one of those best, yet worst works. Desired and undesired. Loved and hated. Do you feel the incredible power of this piece’s message? Do you think it’s vulgar? The form of expression? The artist? Can someone who creates such a work be called an artist? According to many, people like Pablo Picasso—probably the sharpest painter and creator of all time—could be called that. Vincent van Gogh, who poured so much of his soul into his masterpieces that he had to give it all up, only to be appreciated too late. Salvador Dalí, whose exceptional mind surpassed the limits of imagination that an ordinary person cannot overcome. Don Simon, the creator of this painting and the unique style in which he works.

The painting is made with top-quality acrylics mixed with old poster paint. This method results in a color that is truly remarkable… it strikes with what evokes extreme emotions. Something that was meant to remain ugly has become something else, unique, while something that was supposed to stay perfect had the only chance of becoming one-of-a-kind. You’ve probably experienced or seen such a situation in life. Can you answer the question of what this “Act” really represents?

Don Simon—Szymon Półtorak—is a Polish painter, artist, and graphic designer whose works stand out due to their unique style. His art, the result of years of work and experimentation, combines traditional painting techniques with modern artistic solutions. While inspired by the classics, Szymon Półtorak develops his own distinctive artistic language, which not only grabs attention but also stirs deep emotions.

The artist has an impressive collection of paintings, and his works reach clients not only in Poland but also abroad, confirming the international scope of his art. He also offers personalized paintings on request, tailoring his works to the individual needs of the audience. Thanks to his unique style, which he continuously develops, his paintings are gaining recognition among an increasing number of art lovers. His works perfectly align with the latest trends in contemporary art.

Each painting is numbered and hand-signed, and comes with a certificate of authenticity issued by Don Simon. The painting comes directly from the artist’s studio. All paintings are hand-painted, created from scratch—starting with the construction of the stretcher and the stretching of the canvas by the artist himself. (With a few exceptions in the collection where special canvases were purchased or painted on walls.)

The paintings are sold without frames—the first image is just a visualization, a preview. The painting may not have the perfect shape of a square or rectangle due to the irregularities of the stretcher, as it was created by hand from scratch and these irregularities appeared by chance, or the stretcher was intentionally curved for purposes of imitation or other goals aligned with its message.

Some paintings do not have a stretcher and are sold as the canvas itself—ready to be stretched by the buyer.

For shipments outside the EU, additional customs charges may apply, which are the responsibility of the buyer.
